Full-Day Countryside Experience Among the Florence Hills with Barbeque
1 day
Full Day
About this activity
Meet your guide near the train station in central Florence, where you will be picked up by private car and accompanied by your own personal tour guide. Depart Florence and head towards the beautiful Tuscan hills where you will be able to admire the vineyards and olive fields that make the countryside special.
Have breakfast in a local establishment that makes the best cappuccino in the area. Visit a sheep cheese farmhouse where you will learn the secrets to making cheese - and pick up some for lunch.
The next stop is a cattle farm where you will see the animals and buy some typical Florentine steaks. From there, head to an old farmhouse where you can admire the Roman architecture and enjoy a huge barbecue comprised of local meats, cheeses, and vegetables along with the farm's own wine. If you want, you can cook together with them. A leisurely lunch will be had in the farm garden, surrounded by vineyards and olive trees, under the Tuscan sun.
After lunch, head towards San Gimignano, one of the most charming Medieval villages in Tuscany. Visit a ceramics studio where you will see the potters make vases and other unique creations. Have gelato in a typical, local gelateria and walk around the city, visiting its famous towers.
After San Gimignano you will visit a family-owned vineyard where Chianti wine is made for a comprehensive wine tasting session. Then return to the old farmhouse for dinner, where you can make pizza together with the owner/guide, all the while tasting more wine.
At the end of your unforgettable day, you will be brought back to Florence.

Description of the tour was mirepresented. The guide Leonardo only wanted to get you drunk. Pizza making was changed to pasta making and there was no visit to farm or cheese making. The other couple with us had signed up for half day tour and were forced to stay all day till late night.
