About this activity
Why You Shouldn’t Miss This

The Cinque Terre is a collection of five villages in the Italian Riviera region that were isolated for centuries due to their peculiar location. Bordered by the Mediterranean on one side and steep slopes and cliffs on the other, it was always a difficult affair to travel to these hamlets from the mainland. These wonderful fishing villages grew without much intervention from the rest of the world, and to this day, they have maintained their enigma and are a source of curiosity for visitors from all over the world.

Cinque Terre has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The five villages (Vernazza, Monterosso al Mare, Manarola, Corniglia and Riomaggiore), the surrounding hills, and parts of the Italian Riviera coastline are all part of the heritage site. The people of the village have constructed terraces that go all the way up to the crests of the surrounding cliffs across the rugged landscape. The villagers had also built barricades and defenses to protect Italy from the invading Turks in the 16th and 17th Centuries.

Walking through these villages has a certain dreamy and romantic vibe. The train and boat rides are just as surreal. Let go of all your worries and treat yourself to an experience like no other.

Your Experience

Manarola Village is the first attraction on the itinerary. Marvel at the beautiful hills and vineyards all around the settlement. The radiant houses seem to be a reflection of the lively people of Manarola.

You will then get to experience a fine train ride to Riomaggiore. If the weather permits, you will also get an opportunity to travel to Monterosso by boat. Visit some of the fascinating small shops and linger by the gorgeous beach before moving on to Vernazza by train again. If you wish, you can wade and swim in the sea as well.

Vernazza has many bars, cafes, and restaurants where you can relax and enjoy the stunning view of the bay that seems to melt seamlessly into the expansive sea. Walking on ancient routes that have remained untouched by the wheels of automobiles, gazing at the serene mediterranean throughout the tour and sampling exquisite Italian cuisine makes this tour an opportunity you cannot afford to miss!
