The reason why I didn't give 5 stars was because on the first day the driver (who refused to give us his name) had poor time management skills. We had a 4-people small group. While I appreciate the flexibility he gave us, he also left the scheduling to the tourists. We expected a tour guide/driver would plan out the whole day for us. Instead, we had a 45-minute coffee break, 1.5 hour lunch, and only 20-30 minutes for Siena and San Gimignano. It was truly disappointing we were constantly rushing back to the rendezvous points. Thankfully, San Gimignano didnt' live up to my expectation: the town was overly crowded with tourists and the city walls were closed so no more panoramic pictures any more. The second day took an opposite turn and it was PERFECT. The driver/tour guide Antonio planned our day really well. We had wine tasting at two very different but both excellent wineries. We had on average an hour in Montalcino and Montepulciano, and 45 minutes in Greve and Castellina. We got to see so much but didn't feel rushed at all. It was by far the best private tour we've ever had!
