About this activity
Explore the home of a medieval Florentine family and witness 13th and 14th-century artwork and relics. See what life was like during the Renaissance as you wander the rooms and explore frescoes, furniture, and more in the impressive Davanzati Palace.
Get a glimpse at medieval life at the Davanzati Palace, built by the Davizzi family in the middle of the 14th century, and passed to the Davanzati Family at the start of the 16th century.
From the terracotta floors to the wooden ceilings, you'll get to see the transition from medieval tower house to Renaissance building and see furniture and household utensils from the 14th to the 19th century.
See the saloon once used for receptions, the dining rooms, the nuptial chambers where the residents slept, and agiamenti - toilets to you and I, apparently a rarity, even in elegant houses, during the Renaissance.
