I did this activity twice, once with Nick and once with Giuseppe and Kevin. Each had different tricks to making the pizza dough and the gelato. We went out into the Tuscan countryside and tasted wine at a nearby winery and had as much wine as we wanted as we made the pizza. I recommend the rosé.
This was so fun. Jon and Brooke were so much fun and so great. Would highly recommend. Brought my kids age 16 and 28 and they loved it as well. This is great for preteens all the way to granny. Great way to spend an evening. Would do this again!!
The chefs teaching the class were great teachers and very entertaining. I would recommend everyone take a cooking class while visiting Tuscany. The food turned out great, the farm was beautiful and the wine tasty. Its is about a 25 minute drive to the location and they weren't planning on providing any commentary on the areas we were passing or really any information about the area or history. A few people in the group were requesting this and they finally caved and provided some info. I would hope they know if they are taking visitors on a 25 minute drive that they should entertain the guests with knowledge about their city. I also did feel like it was a little rushed. As soon as we were done eating, they had already cleaned up and were ready to take us back. A little more time to relax after eating would have gone a long way.
My daughter and I absolutely loved this class!!! Alessio, our guide and teacher was wonderful. His instruction was easy to follow and so entertaining. We left with not only the confidence to make pizza and gelato at home, but with the recipes and a certificate as well. An absolutely wonderful evening.
Great activity to do while you're in Florence, the class was fun and informative! My only issue was that only 2/12 people got to make gelato, other 10 people didn't had any contribution in making gelato which was not fair. Pizza itself was amazing, one of the best I've had, would highly recommend.
