About this activity
After meeting your professional chef at the centrally-located office 15 minutes prior to your selected 2:30pm or 5pm start time, you'll be transported directly to a beautiful private estate in the hills just above Florence where you will start to live the full Italian experience.

On arrival, you'll be able to appreciate the stunning views over gorgeous countryside as you taste the traditional 'bruschetta' and enjoy a glass of Chianti wine while listening to the culture behind Italy's most famous foods - pizza and gelato.

By this time you will be eager to get hands on. The professional chef will teach you the art of dough making and kneading and will give you all the inside tips in order to easily produce the same result back home where you'll be able to impress your friends and family.

Next, it will be time to get creative as you use the ingredients picked from the onsite vegetable garden and choose from the many traditional toppings the Italians love. The pizza will be cooked in a wood oven to give it the traditional flavour that will make you feel proud as you sit down and enjoy your pizza with wine or beer.

The fun continues as you then learn the special techniques to make your very own gelato. You will make creamy gelato with unique toppings and sauces, and though you may always want to reproduce these same toppings, the chef will make sure you have an adequate understanding in order to be able to experiment at home.

You will leave feeling satisfied, excited and with wonderful memories that you will be able to take home with you. Upon departure, you'll return to the original departure point around five hours after departure.

This was an awesome, funny, and tasty experience. Well worth the price. Maybe not as fun going solo as it will be nice for a partner to have pics taken.

This was an absolutely fantastic experience, so well organised and lots of fun and laughs! Luca, Luigi and Cris were excellent hosts and shared so much information in a funny and engaging way. We loved making and tasting all the gelato flavours and disciplining our dough babies was a highlight! Thanks for a wonderful evening in Tuscany!

Everything about this cooking class was first rate, especially our teachers - both Chris and Luca were entertaining and knowledgeable. Luca, in particular, was hilarious. Our gelato turned out really well, but our individual pizzas were absolutely superb. The surroundings were beautiful, too. We always use Viator for any tours we want to schedule and we are so glad we chose this one.

WOW WOW WOW! What a fantastic experience. I wish I could give the trip 100 stars it was seriously that good. From the delicious food to the friendly, warm, funny staff we had the best afternoon ever - it was the highlight of our entire trip (we did Rome, Florence and Venice). Angela, Luca, Lugiano and all the staff were so hospitable and helpful, they really made us feel welcome. It really was a laugh-a-minute experience, especially during the pizza making - Luca I love you!

Beautiful setting with lush greenery and picturesque views made for a extremely enjoyable evening. The time flew by and the instructors Max, Luca, and Ludavico were all extremely knowledgeable and made the 5 hours fly by because everybody was having so much fun. Would definitely recommend to anybody visiting Florence.

You arrive in the most stunning Tuscan house where you learn to make gelato ice cream and pizza with Max, Luca and Luigi!! They are the most amazing instructors and our cheeks hurt. This was part of our honeymoon and one of the best tours we have ever done. Lots of food and alcohol throughout the tour! We were so full by the end. We met some awesome people too. My husband and I want to say thank you to all three instructors because they made this experience the best!! Thank you so much!!

We had so much fun and enjoyed a beautiful view while learning to make pizza and gelato. Max, Luigi and Luca really made this night the best it could be. They were each so knowledgeable, kind and fun - we laughed a lot! I had high expectations after reading the reviews, and I have to say our experience not only met, but exceeded those expectations. Lots of great memories and photos. We would highly recommend this tour.

My mom and I took this tour on our recent trip to Italy and we LOVED it. Angela, Luca and Luigi made our experience truly fantastic, fun, energetic and lovely. We learned a lot, we were able to prepare our food with natural ingredients harvested from the farm. The flavours were simply delicious. The group was fun and carring. They gave us many tips and tricks, we were able to prepare the dishes ourselves and to have fun. The location is beautiful, with views from Florence counstryside and a beautilf kitchen and dining area to enjoy your meals after. Timing was great and transportation was there on time for pick up and drop off. You have to walk a little to catch the bus both times but is no big deal at all. Overall, you won't regret taking this tour, it is wonderful and lots of fun!

This tour is everything that you want to do in Florence. Visit a farm house in the hills outside Florence, make some pizza and gelato in an outdoor kitchen, drink some wine and have fun. The tour cooks and guides were outstanding and they fill the entire 5 hours with great cooking tips and activity. Highly recommended.

Stop wasting time searching. Book this excursion. The farmhouse is on top of a beautiful hill over looking the valley. The instructors Angela, Matteo and Luigi where great. All engaging and very helpful. I have pictures and videos of Matteo helping my kids 6 and 7 make and roll pizza dough. Something you should know is, other than making the gelato you are outside the entire time and there are tons of mosquitos. So bring bug spray. But d on’t let this deter you. This is the best thing we did in Florence.

Where do I begin? I can't speak highly enough about this tour. This has to be one of my favorite experiences in Italy! From the setting, to the hospitality of Luigi, Luca and Angie...it was an experience of a lifetime. This was a very interactive and hands on experience and we left with our bellies and hearts full. The pizza and gelato we made were delicious!! Special thanks to our teachers of course, Angie, Luca and Luigi! I can't get over the panoramic views and organic garden still. Beautiful way to spend an afternoon.

The pizza and gelato class is a must in Florence ! During this class, we had Luca and Luigi for the pizza making and Max for gelato . They did an amazing job to explain the process of making as well as making it fun. Luca was extremely fun to be around and surely gave you laughs. Luigi helped with the pizza making with fun . Max gave his own twist to gelato making with a way to remember it all. In the end , they send you the recipes . So much fun and was able to have a great class and meal. Highly recommend if you want to have fun and eat !

This was an amazing , informative and entertaining experience! All of the instructors; Matteo, Christian, and LUCA (EVERYONE LOVES LUCA!!!!) were incredible. The instruction was real-deal with truly important techniques to making excellent, authentic pizza, and gelato. The time spent with each of them was beyond incredible as their expertise, personalities, humor, and showmanship was OUTSTANDING! The food was more than enough to be VERY full along with beer and wine and the opportunity to taste about 10 different flavors of handcrafted gelato. Grounds were beautiful and just a short drive from the city center and the company provides transportation. This is an event for families, couples, singles, and anyone who wants to have a VERY enjoyable and tasty experience! This was definitely one of the highlites of our trip!!

Chris, Lucca and Ludivico were the perfect instructors for an amazing evening of learning, cooking and enjoying. We were concerned how far the “farmhouse” would be from downtown Florence, but were pleasantly surprised that the drive did not cut into our cooking time more than 15 or 20 minutes. Chris was in charge of teaching us the basics of gelato, which he did not only in an efficient manner, but with lots of personal tips and insights. The results were spectacular! Topping our gelato with lemon grass, basil or Balsamico made it extra special. Lucca and Ludivico put on a show for us. There was great information about the flour, the yeast, the sauce and the toppings. We got to mix our own dough and even learned how to toss it! I recommend this tour to anyone who can’t get enough of the food here... we are so excited to start experimenting with our own gelato flavors!

We had such a blast taking part in this cooking class on our last day in Florence. It was absolute fun and there was never a dull moment with Luca,Lavinia or Luigi. The farmhouse was stunning with a great view and plenty of room. There was a wide selection of gelato flavours and pizza toppings to choose from. Lavinia was very knowledgeable as sweet as the gelato she taught us to make. Luigi was a great demonstrator and good at explaining how to make the pizza dough. Luca was hilarious and engaging with everyone, such a great entertainer! We got recipes emailed to us a couple days later which is great. It was an amazing way to end our time in Florence!!!

My family recently travelled to Rome, Florence and Venice. We booked, in advance, several tours through Viator. My 7 family members ranged from 14 to 80 years old. The unanimous highlight for all of us was the Pizza And Gelato tour from Florence!!! Luca, Luigi and Lavinia were so fun, good cooks/teachers and hospitable! They made it so memorable and fun, plus the pizza and gelato were delicious!! I highly recommend this tour. It was a nice break from the educational walking tours and the setting was picturesque Tuscany!!

Great fun experience. Luca, Max and their group is fun loving and make your evening even more interesting with some real original recipes. Lots of laugh and jokes and good wine, eat your own pizza and gelato tasting. Recommend if you like to laugh and enjoy a great evening and learn some cooking tips of real Italian Pizza.

Having completed the Tuscan Cooking and Food tour on our last trip to Florence 2 years ago, which we thought was fantastic, we were keen to do another course at the farmhouse. This one did not disappoint! The guys made the whole experience so much fun but also informative and the pizza and gelato was delicious. We highly recommend this course!

It was a mother and daughter trip in Italy and the Pizza and Gelato cooking class was fantastic for both of us. Everybody in the team there was welcoming and friendly. The pizza and the gelato were very good! The site and the sight were fabulous. We recommend it to everyone who wants to calm down form the agitation of Rome or Florence.

This was a great time. The pizza and gelato were lots of fun and the staff is very engaging. For the gelato they offer a ton of flavors and recipes and you get to pick what you want to make. At the end you get to taste all creations. The pizza was probably some of the best we have ever had and all the ingredients are super fresh. All this while drinking wine overlooking the valley.

This was a great experience and I am happy we did it and definitely would recommend it to others. I would rate it very close to 5 stars if the rating system would give me a scale. Luca is very entertaining and makes the event fun! I also thought Luigi was great also (his “assistant”). He was very nice, helpful, and engaging with the kids, but definitely underused. The location is gorgeous and really all around this was one of my favorite things in Italy! Why NOT 5 stars then, right? Well I think there were a few areas that could be improved upon to make it an excellent experience: (1) maybe some actual history of pizza as an Italian food (how did pizza come to be?). (2) a guide with a flashlight would help people see better at night on those steep stairs and dirt roads.(3) some form of a seating chart so groups could easily stay together during the event is a must (in both the gelato making room and the eating area). We left the area to make our pizzas and came back to 1/2 our seats being taken by others. Our drinks were at the spot as well as coats, but we were displaced and left without glasses or anything to drink the rest of the night. Furthermore, in the gelato area since there was no chart we ended up having one outlier of our party at another table. Yes they did move the stuff so we could all be together but I got the feeling this was a form of irritation for them. (4) We told more than one person about a fruit allergy in our party, during the even and prior to the event, and while there was an attempt to accommodate this the people using the fruit we were trying to stay away from ended up directly behind us. If that had splattered and touch my daughter it would have been an issue for her. Perhaps the seating/workstation chart would have helped with this also. (5) some extra glasses and napkins on the food tables would be helpful. I didnt expect to be waited on, but it would have been nice to have someone come around during the meal time to check-in with each group. We could have used a glass of water, but there was nobody free to ask. Please know these are all just suggestions that would have made it a 5 Star experience for us! Everyone had a wonderful time and experience! I would recommend this experience for mature children and all ages who don’t have mobility issues (there is dirt road waking and steepstair climbing involved- they do mention this themselves, but so you know... they aren’t exaggerating).

Our pizza and gelato cooking class with Luca and Lavinia was the absolute highlight of our trip. It was a quick ride from downtown Florence. The scenery was gorgeous, wine was generously flowing and the food we made was delicious. Luca and Lavinia had us absolutely cracking up. We learned how to make some awesome food and were thoroughly entertained. I HIGHLY recommend this trip to anyone going to Florence, even if your time there is limited.

The cooking with Chris and Luca was literally an experience. Very detailed explanation on how to make wonderful Gelato and Pizza. Starting with the Gelato - We made over 8 different types of Gelato and Chris explained how the ratios of the various ingredients affect how it is made. Each of us made one and was absolutely brilliant and super easy. We also had a show with Liquid Nitrogen done by Chris.Pizza - If you get Luca as your cook, consider yourself super lucky. He is so much fun and makes Pizza making an absolute experience with his own antics!! For the first time I flew a pizza in the air. If you guys are in Florence, this is one experience you cannot miss. Definitely do this over visiting any places around. Winter cold is no problem at all, as it is all done indoors (except of course for the wood fire oven).
