I have done several wine tours, both in Tuscany and other wine regions. This tour was not up to par with the other tours. The name of the wine tour is Supertuscan, therefore, I assumed we would get to taste some nice supertuscan wine. However, though the day we only tasted two Supertuscan wines. Other than that, we were mainly tasting Chianti. The tour has some potential, but needs a lot of work. The guide was knowledgeable about the wine, but didn't really try and connect with the group and make it a memorable experience for us. He didn't answer all the questions that the group had, he avoided some questions that he didn't want to answer. While at each winery we weren't given the chance to buy any of the bottles that we tasted, which is very odd to me. I would have enjoyed the experience much more if I could have talked to the people creating the wine before deciding to buy the bottles or not. For that reason, I didn't purchase any bottles when we were given the chance at a local shop later on. We went to a few wineries and tasted a few wines at each, honestly, it wasn't much wine. Not enough to really justify the cost of the trip. During the lunch if you wanted wine, you had to go to the bar and buy it yourself. The van that was used for transport was old and loud and dirty. If you aren't sitting in the row behind the driver, you cannot hear a single word that he is saying. The couple that were sitting in the back of the van missed most of the information given on the tour because they couldn't hear the tour guide in between the stops. We stopped at one farm and didn't do anything. We simply walked around for about 20-30 minutes and then left. It seemed like they said that the tour was going to be a certain length and then just went here to kill some time before the stop. It would have been much better if we would used that time to taste wine.
