Stop At: Walkabout Florence Tours, Via Vinegia, 23R, 50122 Firenze FI, Italy

Check-in and departure point

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: La Cantinetta Di Rignana, Via Rignana, 13, 50022 Greve in Chianti FI, Italy

Now buckle-up and get ready for some off-roading through ancient woodland and rolling hills, outlined with cypress trees and dotted with rustic farms and churches, to make our way to a typical Tuscan winery restaurant with stunning views. Here is where we will really get your taste buds tingling with delicious food and wine. You will not want to leave!

Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Stop At: Lamole Di Lamole, Via di Lamole, 50022, Greve in Chianti Italy

We go deeper into the Chianti hills and enjoy more incredible countryside on our way to a Chianti Classico vineyard. As a contrast to the established winery of the morning, this one is smaller and less known though does have two award winning wines which you will taste as you find out how ancient tradition and innovation have been combined to create them.

Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Stop At: Piazza Giacomo Matteotti, 8, 50022 Greve in Chianti FI, Italy

Greve, a picturesque town in Chianti where you can enjoy a little free time to wind down and get a coffee, shop or just soak in the unique Italian culture of this idyllic place.

Duration: 45 minutes

Stop At: Via San Piero di Sotto 1 c/o Villa le Corti, 50026, San Casciano in Val di Pesa Italy

Our first stop of the day is at a beautiful winery belonging to one of the most prestigious Italian aristocratic families. Here we taste three wines paired with cured meats and two olive oils but first, there’s a fascinating guided tour of the historic wine cellars and to the olive mill through underground tunnels that pass under the villa.

The Taste of Chianti day trip through Walkabout was amazing and a highlight of our stay in Florence. Gloria was an incredible tour guide and not only knowledgeable about the area but also wine and olive oil. She also had a great sense of humor. On paper it was a long day trip, but it is broken up by several stops and Gloria provided narration for much of it but also allowed for person time to rest. Romolo drove the Beast (I think of it as the big green machine), it is a huge 4 wheel drive truck with a bus cab on the back, and very comfortable inside. Romolo maneuvered it on narrow back roads that didn’t seem possible to fit our vehicle. The food was amazing and the wine was great! I would definitely take another tour by Walkabout and highly recommend them to others.

We had a wonderful day in the Tuscany hillsides. Stefano our guide and John our driver made the trip humorous and safe.

I really hope that Stefano is earning the money he deserves. His expertise is invaluable. Without a doubt Stefano’s insight made this wine tasting the best experience in Firenze. As far as driving is concerned, the driver who I believe to be named John, was great. I really do hope that Stefano receives the accolades he deserves as he truly is a sommelier.

Martina was fabulous, very personable and engaging! What a great way to spend the day and tour the Chianti region and sample various wines, cheeses and olive oil. The ride was a little bumpy at times, and expected, given the area we traveled into wine country. You won't be disappointed.

This was an absolutely amazing tour. Martina, the guide was friendly, personable and very knowledgeable on the Tuscan region, wine and olive oils. She really made the tour. The wine, olive oil tastings were interesting. The antipasto, lunch and cheese pairings were all great. And the surprise dessert for my wife’s birthday was delicious and a nice bonus. Definitely recommend this tour.

This event was better than we expected. The vehicle is bigger than expected too, and sits high up for a great view of the countryside. Gloria was so gracious and knowledgeable about all aspects, and the winery folks were, too. Really great wine and olive oil tastings and the food was spectacular! Would do it again in a minute.

We enjoyed this trip. Martina was our guide and John was our driver. Martina was very knowledgeable regarding olive oil and Italian wine ratings. The wineries were gorgeous and offered a variety of tasting opportunities paired with foods. A tip is to always wear shoes appropriate for walking outside of vineyards and prepare in case you have rain on the trip.

Wine was great, travel fun in a large BENZ 4 wheeler. One of two in Italy. Martina was the bightest and most interesting guide we could have ever hoped for. Fun of life, facts and super knowledge. Her diverse background as a Florence native nade this tour absolutely perfect. Its is one we will always think fondly of. Totally worth the time and experience will be not forgotten.

Martina and Walkabout Tours provide a vineyards tour experience beyond all expectations. Since they use a 4x4 vehicle the access to the vineyards is fun and exciting. John is a Master at handling the driving. The knowledge and experience that Martina has providers an experience that you will never fly.

Gloria was super friendly and very knowledgable and was just the perfect guide for a tour like this. She took us through each of our site visits sharing all the information she had and answering all the queries the group might have and in between the free time, I loved how she tried to conenct with every couple and family who had joined the trip. The wine tasting was absoluetly worthy of the money we spent on this, the Tuscan lunch was amazing and I loved the liver pate on crostini :D Was very excited to sit in the beast and the initial amount of disclaimers about the off road trip got me slightly snxious but Romolo proved to be a very dependable driver! I would recommend this trip, the beat, Romolo and Gloria to everyone I know visiting this area! :)

We had a great time on this Chianti day trip. Stefano was amazing and so so fun! He provided so much information on the vineyards, the Chianti region and wine making, the tour was so much more than your average wine tasting which we really appreciated. The wine and food were all excellent.

We really enjoyed our wine tour and taste of Chianti. We went to 3 wineries and a really neat small Tuscany town Greve. Our guide was Gloria and we really loved her and all of her stories. She was a lot of fun with all she had to say and tying it into her family. Her knowledge of the area, how wine and olive oil is made and some really neat facts made the day great. Serge the driver was great as well and I'm not sure how he managed to get the bus down some of those roads but he did!!! He got us there and back safely. We would recommend this tour and our guides to everyone. Thanks.
