Reach Vicchio from Florence by train (about 50 min scenic journey through countryside).
We meet in Vicchio,a village of medieval origin,where great artists such as Giotto and Beato Angelico,lived their youth.
After an enjoyable walk through the village and around the picturesque lake we get the bike, the helmet and the water bottle and continues the ride on country roads between farmhouses,vineyards and olive trees into Mugello area,the homeland of the famous Medici family,and a land that’s rich in history with their medieval castles,romanesque churches and noble villas.
Through the ride we'll stop to visit an authentic Tuscan farm, know the owners and taste their delicious saffron-flavored products.

Simone was very professional and personable. We took an hour train ride for under 6 Euro each and Simone met us at the train station. We were set up with great equipment and had a great time even in the rain. Simone had a rain jacket for me. We had a nice stop ay the saffrom farm where we petted a Vietnamese pot belly pig Pepo, a horse, bees and rabbits We took a quick trip onto the charming town of Vecchio and Simone pointed out a great restaurant in town that we had a delicious meal. He even followed up with us after the tour to suggest a place where my husband can rent a bike. We will be booking future tours with him. If you want to take a quick trip and have fun riding in the country, book this. He's a real gentleman too. When I got tired he helped me take the bike up the hill.
