Pass By: Tuscany Tour Time, 50122, Florence Italy
Meeting Point: Piazza dei Cavalleggeri, Florence
At 9:30 am we will leave Florence. On the minibus, you’ll meet your guide and hear a little about the day ahead. Around 10:15 we’ll arrive at the first winery. You will have a guided tour of the winery where you learn how the wine is made, followed by a tasting session that includes locally produced cheese, olive oil from a nearby farm, and finally some artisan chocolate. After the tasting, we’ll have time to take some photos of the beautiful scenery before heading to the second winery.
This is where the real eating will commence. In the second winery, you will learn some more about Italian wine, together with a typical Tuscan lunch, and of course lots of wine tasting. After eating and drinking, we will head to an enchanting, family-run chocolate and cookie factory. We’ll get to meet the family – who have been making Tuscan sweets since 1950 -- and taste some artisan, locally produced desserts. Filippo, a friend and the shop’s manager, is always very generous with his cantucci (Tuscan almond cookies), cheeses, truffles, and chocolates. Together with the sweets, we’ll enjoy a locally produced white wine, a red wine, a sparkling wine, and some more limoncello.
We’ll head back to Florence around 5:00 pm for a much-needed walk (or nap!).
