Naufragados Beach & Ribeirão da Ilha village

Praia do Naufragados, the southernmost part of the island of Santa Catarina, is also one of the most preserved due to its geographical isolation. A beautiful specimen of beach inserted in the set beach-forest-rivers-morros, typical of the Atlantic Forest brasieira in the south and southeast. To get to the beach we have a beautiful trail of 2.3 km - approximately 50 minutes. The trail has an uphill at the beginning and then we descend until we cross a stream of clean water. Then we went down a bit and then we have a plan until we get to the beach. Relatively easy. It requires, like every trail, a good deal of attention and some physical training. On the beach, going to the right, you can reach the old Naufragados Lighthouse. This trail is short and very pleasant. From the lighthouse, one has a beautiful view of the beaches of the continent and the Fort of Our Lady of Araatuba (1742), located on a small island directly in front. From above you can observe the movement of the dolphins that inhabit the small cove. The beach is little more than 1 km with a good stretch of sand, excellent for enjoying a sunny day. The sea is usually quieter on the left side, the right side being more agitated and with good waves with southern swell. The river in this corner is a great option! One or two restaurants will usually be open on weekends and holidays serving a good meal based on fish and / or seafood. Enjoy. From the left side of the beach starts a trail that leads to the beach of Saquinho - 6 km. Indicated only with an experienced local driver.
