About this activity
This tour will take you on an adventure in the Franz Josef Glacier Valley, through native forest, then out onto the river bed, past waterfalls and off the beaten track and away from the general public.* Learn about the native flora and fauna, glaciology, geology, climate change and history of the area, in a small group informative tour. Stop for a rest with a magnificent view, a cup of tea/hot choc/coffee and a biscuit (included) and the opportunity to chat one-on-one with your guide. Raincoats, overtrousers, umbrellas and walking poles, as well as all transport to your tour destinations are provided. There is a maximum of 10 people per guide to ensure that you are able to ask questions and receive the best experience the Franz Josef Glacier has to offer. If you are interested in birds, trees, nature & wildlife, or just want to have a personal guided experience, this is the tour for you.
