About this activity

This bike tour is the right choice for every Frankfurt-Lover and for every first-time visitor. All the famous sights combined with the insider tips are a truly guarantor for that. At the end of the tour, your guide will show you some traditional Frankfurter Apfelwein restaurants!

Your tour starts in the midst of Sachsenhausen, one of the most popular quarters of the city. Many old buildings from the late 19th century characterize this quarter with its numerous trendy bars, cozy cafés and a wide range of restaurants as well as traditional Apfelweingaststätte. You ride comfortably along small streets, afterwards you join the painter’s quarter and reach the southern bank of the Main with its famous Museumsufer. Here are located among others the Städelsche art institute with its reputable annex and its notable temporary exhibitions, the Liebighaus as well as the Museum for applied art. Along the Holbeinsteg, you drive to the other bank of the Main and ride in the old town of Frankfurt. At the Römer, you can look through the royal road at the Frankfurter “Dom” (which is not a real cathedral), and the beautiful half-timbered ensemble. Only a few meters separate you from the cradle of the German democracy with the Pauls-church. Afterwards, you ride along the Großen Hirschgraben to the home of the family Goethe.

In the 20th century, the green annular avenue has been edified on the former medieval line of defence. You ride along traffic free routes through the heart of the city and join the New Opera and the Old Opera, where you can directly experience the Frankfurter skyline. A small detour leads you to the Frankfurt Stock Exchange with its famous bull and bear. Back at the green annular avenue, you ride to the east of the city and then along the Main. The new landmark of the city resides directly in front of you: The new tower of the European Central Bank is the impressive counterpoint of the high-rise ensemble on the west side. The tour ends in Sachsenhausen at the point of departure.
