About this activity
Embebbed in vineyards, Weikersheim is distinguished by a splendid Renaissance palace surrounded by magnificient gardens a`la Versailles. Unique are the fully preserved interior furnishings, which date back to the 16th to 18th centuries. Also unique in terms of buildings, the 'Kornbau' (granary), which houses the Tauberland Village Museum, the Gothic parish church and the Rococo fountain. Other sights in Weikersheim are the town walls or the old town hall. After you visited some sights you could go on a excursion along the River Tauber via Tauberretersheim (stone bridge built by B. Neumann in 1733) to Röttingen, Creglingen, Rothenburg ob der Tauber and Bad Mergentheim. Also: Weikersheim has an excellent network of hiking and cycling trails.
