About this activity
Day 1: Frankfurt – Rothenburg
The Romantic Roach Coach departs at 8:00 hrs from Frankfurt central coach station, located in front of the main railway station (number of bus stop 7-9). The first part of the journey takes you through the Spessart Mountains to Wuerzburg, on the banks of the river Main. Then you continue through the Tauber Valley and along on the Romantic Road to Rothenburg, Germany’s well-preserved "Jewel of the Middle Ages" with its ramparts, city gates, town hall and Jakobskirche (church) with an altar by the famous wood-carver Tilman Riemenschneider.
Upon arrival in Rothenburg at the bus stop “Schrannenplatz” (scheduled for 12:35 hrs), a taxi will take you to your hotel. In the afternoon (14:00 hrs) or evening (20:00 hrs) you are invited to join the city walk with a local guide or the historic Night Watchman in Rothenburg, both walks departing from the market square. A voucher for the city walk is included in your tour documentation, please hand it over to the tour guide.
Overnight accommodations: Hotel Schranne or similar

The Romantic Road Coach departs from Rothenburg bus stop “Schrannenplatz” at 13:05 hrs and continues along the Romantic Road passing picturesque towns such as Dinkelsbühl and Nördlingen, with high-gabled houses and cobbled-stone streets. Via Augsburg, a metropolis during the Roman times and famous for old trade dynasties during the Middle Ages, Munich and then back to the route of the Romantic Road you arrive at Hohenschwangau at about 20:25 hrs!
Overnight accommodations: Hotel Müller, or similar in 87645 Hohenschwangau
