About this activity

When you arrive at Dune Buggy Headquarters, you will recieve instructions for driving your buggy, as well as the health and saftey procedures, before leaving the facilities to enjoy a day roaming accross the sand dunes! During your tour you'll drive through the real volcano country and climb up hills in this once in a life time off roading experience.

In Fuerteventura the nature is untouched and your first stop is at the famous Corralejo volcanoes, home to Fuerteventura chipmunks. They will often come out of hiding when they hear the buggies, for feeding time. Kids and adults love this first stop in the tour, where you will be lucky enough to have the chipmunks eating out of your hand with sunflower seeds provided by your Dune Buggy guide.

Your tour will continue over the hills and down the valley towards the UNESCO world heritage sights. The volcanic scenery is stunning and the automatic buggies are super fun to drive over the sandy tracks. After the first stop at the volcanoes, you will then head along the road through the trendy surfer’s village of Lajares, and on to El Cotillo fishing village for a snack, or take the opportunity to sightsee around the town. El Cotillo was once a tiny fishing town, while it has expanded the village still manages to keep a slow pace of life and originality.

Following El Cotillo you'll make a pit stop at the Aguayre restaurant, situated in front of the harbor overlooking the cliffs and a wide surf beach for lunch. After lunch in the morning, you will head along the coast of El Cotillo, driving by the stunning aqua blue lagoons and passing by El Toston lighthouse. Here you can see the locals surfing, kite and windsurfing and the staggering black volcanic rock formations next to the platinum pale sand. The last leg of the tour carries on through the sandy lanes off-road to the mini fishing settlement Majanicho where you have your last stop for photos. It’s a traditional place where time stands still and comprises of a few fishing huts, boats and regular campers.
