Levada dos Tornos in Boaventura
This one is a must do for all the botanists and lovers of fauna and flora.
It is also one of the less frequented walks on the island, perfect for those who want to get away from the crowds....
Many different species of fauna and flora endemic to Madeira, some, very rare.
Water is prominent along the path, with many streams, rivers and small waterfalls.
There are beautiful rock faces and small peaks along the walk as well as fantastic views of the small villages of Boaventura tucked away in the valleys below.
This is a very important levada on the island, bringing water from the North all the way to the city of Funchal.
This is a great "first walk" for those who have never been walking or hiking in Madeira and has also become our most popular walk.
