Stand Up Paddling Lessons
Azul Diving Center is ideally located in Ponta de Sao Lourenço Protected area a few steps away from the water giving you the chance to enjoy SUP lessons and excursions in the best conditions ever.
It is not only fun for all ages, but it’s also a sport that everyone can enjoy! Whether you are new to open ocean paddling, looking to freshen up your SUP skills, or just want a leisurely stroll to check out marine life, Azul Diving Center Stand Up Paddle Board sessions are the answer for you.
With the right instruction, SUP can be easy to learn while giving you a full body workout. The skilled SUP instructors will get you standing up on your board right away so you can see Madeira from a different perspective!
The school’s goal is to give you a memorable and authentic SUP experience – that’s their promise to you. And as an added bonus, their guides will document your great accomplishment with their GoPro!
Lesson
SUP improves and strengthens core balance, leg muscles, flexibility, and coordination.
During the lesson your instructor will teach you:
– How to stand up on the board
– Getting your balance just right
– Stabilising the board
– How to turn
– How to increase your speed
If you want to try the fastest growing sport around, an intro lesson is right for you. This will take you through the basics of necessary equipment, including instruction on balance, turning, safety and overall success guaranteed for your first go.
Kids as young as 8 years old can come and share this new experience! The main focus is to have a lot of fun on the water and build confidence. Flotation vests can be provided if necessary.
Offer Description
This is a one hour lesson with an instructor + 1 hour of equipment rental.
Normally a 1-hour lesson is more than enough to get you started with the basic techniques. After the lesson, you will have an hour of equipment rental so you can continue to practice.
Groups are limited to 4 people.
Example of a programme:
– Once you arrive at Azul Diving Center, you will fill in the necessary paperwork
– You will then gear up in the equipment and make your way to the beach
Activity requirements
All participants under 18 must provide written parental consent.
You must be able to swim autonomously.
