About this activity
Weekends are a good time to visit the village as the local people stage their market stalls along the main road with a surprising assortment of food and other goods can be acquired very cheaply. Local farmers as well as a multitude of diverse street salesmen gather in this traditional market spot that gathers a great deal of both locals and tourists.

After the visit of the market take a walk in the Santo da Serra Gardens, where the paths are lined with wonderful blooming camellias. The park has a small variety of animals including deer, horses, and goats. Finish up at the Village of Camacha, Madeira's willow crafting center.
