Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Blow Hole Hummanaya, Dikwella 81200 Sri Lanka

Your tour will begin at 9:30 am or 3:30 pm depending on the time slot that you chose. You will be picked up from your hotel in Dickwella or Hiriketiya in a Tuk Tuk. This mode of travel will allow you to enjoy the fresh breeze and the tropical beauty of the Southern Sri Lankan countryside.

Your English-Speaking chauffeur guide will take you to the Hummanaya Blowhole initially. This blowhole gained its name from the deep humming sound it makes when it periodically sprays out seawater. After spending enough time to watch it blow and taking some great photos of this sight, you will be stopping by the Dickwella Fishing Harbour. You will find a large number of fishing boats, and there will be some of the fisherfolk selling their catch or mending the nets. You can speak with them with the assistance of your guide, and ask about their daily lives.

Your next stop will be the Wewurukannala Buddhist Temple with its 160 foot Buddha Statue. This 8-story tall statue is the biggest seated Buddha Statue in Sri Lanka. The Tunnel of hell is an area within the temple that gives a graphical display of the various Buddhist hells that await sinners. The 250 year old temple also boasts an interesting museum and number of beautiful sculptures and paintings on the Jataka Stories.

Next on your itinerary will be a visit to the local potter’s. The Sri Lankan Clay Pottery is a craft that has been honed over several millennia. You will get to see traditional methods used for making clay pots and firing them up. Next you will visit the handloom fabric weaving workshop, where you will see how the fabric is made in all its patterns and colors. The next stop will be the cinnamon processing centre. This center will be a small sized trade, and you will get to see how the locals obtain the bark and process it into top quality cinnamon.

With the tour winding down, you will spend some time relaxing on the banks of Dandeniya Lanka, before visiting the railway bridge currently under construction in Sri Lanka. On completion this will be the longest railway bridge in South Asia.

You will finish off with a delightful Lunch or Dinner (depending on the time slot you choose) at a good restaurant. Your tour will come to an end after the meal, and you will be dropped off at your hotel.
