About this activity
Our most comprehensive tour yet!

Join Aran Tour Company to visit The Aran Islands and see the Cliffs of Moher like never before.

Departing Galway’s New Coach Station at 9:00am

We will guide you south along the Wild Atlantic Way and into the lunar-like Burren region. From there we’ll head to the picturesque fishing village of Doolin where you’ll board the ferry* to Inisheer (Inis Oirr) – the smallest and most vibrant of the Aran Islands.

From here you’ll be in the safe hands of The Doolin Ferry Company accompanied by your guide. Inisheer is only a 30 minute sailing from Doolin and attractions include ancient churches and castles, one of Ireland’s most beautiful beaches, a modern playground and several pubs and cafes, lighthouses and shipwrecks! Take a pony and trap, hire a bicycle or stroll the peaceful boreens. The return journey, a guided cruise alongside the foot of the Cliffs of Moher, is a spectacular journey which puts the 214m high, 8km long cliffs into perspective.

After returning to Doolin there will be a pause at the famous Gus O’Connor’s pub where you can purchase a hearty lunch before embarking on the next leg of the tour – to the top of The Cliffs! As a guest of Aran Tour Company you will receive free entry to the cliffs and the eco-sensitive visitor centre. Take a stroll along the cliff edge and consider how tiny everything looks from above!

Once we depart the cliffs we will take the coast road home, following the Wild Atlantic Way before one last stop at the stunning Baby Cliffs in Ballyreen where you can walk atop the Burren. Return time in Galway is approx. 7:30pm

Aran Islands were very interesting, and the people were very friendly. Fun but bumpy and wet ride to see the bottom of the cliffs and then headed by bus to walk top of cliffs. Long but interesting day, and plenty of time to get out and walk around, which was nice for such a long tour.

We loved the trip to the Aran Islands and the Cliffs! PJ was amazing and funny as our driver and guide. We enjoyed the trip through the Burren, to the Arans, our horse carriage driver Trevor, and the Cliffs of Moher above and below. Would highly recommend anyone trying to see the cliffs up close from the sea. Totally worth it.
