About this activity
Your journey to the Cliffs of Moher from Galway will bring you through the exposed, windswept landscapes of the Burren. Listen to your expert guide share the history and some interesting facts about this Western seaboard of Ireland. Exit the coach to explore the unique limestone terrain, jagged coastline and rare flora.

Travelling South from Galway, you will visit the Dunguaire Castle, an iconic 1520’s castle with a 75 foot tower. This picturesque castle is seated along the Galway Bay in Kinvarra. You’ll spend 15-20 minutes at this photo opportunity.

Your tour will then continue to the Aillwee Cave, a series of dramatic underground caverns and tunnels. You’ll have the option of a guided tour of the caves or visiting the Birds of Prey Experience. Not feeling adventurous? Spend time in the cafe, which offers many local food and coffee options.

Following the Aillwee Caves, you’ll travel straight to the Cliffs of Moher over Corkscrew Hill. You’ll spend 90 minutes at the Cliffs - plenty of time to walk to trails to several lookout platforms. At the South Platform, you can discover the unique colony of seabirds who call the cliff’s edge home. Among the hillside is an eco-friendly visitor centre where you’ll find interactive exhibits, aerial tours and a virtual reality cliff face adventure!

Surely you will have worked up an appetite from your adventure thus far, so we’ll travel to Doolin for lunch (not included). Following Doolin, we’ll travel back to Galway along the coastal route, offering plenty of photo opportunities!

Our morning began with pick-up from the front door of the Salthill Hotel! Patrick was friendly, knowledgeable and had a wonderful sense of humor. We loved the comfy coach bus and wonderful views. Patrick filled us in on all the sights on the way. The cave was fun and entertaining. Loved the spectacular views from the Cliffs! Our lunch stop was delicious with authentic Irish fare and a cozy warm fire. Smooth ride and lots of laughs. We’re from Pennsylvania and not accustomed to the tight driving pathways. It was great to be driven in luxury by an experienced driver! Thank you Patrick! We’ll never forget it!

Bus/tour guide was very informative. Unfortunately the weather was very stormy that day and we couldn’t enjoy the cliffs . The driver worked with the group so it would still be an enjoyable tour.

This was a great tour. Our driver who is also our tour guide was very knowledgeable and very entertaining. He was so patient and kind and everyone was punctual which makes for a nice tour. Beautiful landscape , just a little rain but overall worth the price.

This was a stress free way to see several sites in the West of Ireland. We travelled July 5 and our tour guide was Martin. He set the tone by playing some lovely traditional music, and He offered a plethora of information about each site, and allowed for picture stops on the way back to Galway. I highly recommend this tour, as it was well worth the reasonable cost (about 35 USD)

This tour was magnificent and the price was very reasonable. We had a large group of 10 adults and teens. Enjoyed all the stops it really broke up the day.The Aillwee Cave was a hidden gem. The Cliffs were breathtaking! Fitzpatrick's restaurant was good, plenty of options and was able to handle a bus-load quickly. When we stopped at Dunguaire Castle and watched a Thatcher working on a straw roof. Our guide, Martin, was an excellent driver and narrator. I would definitely recommend this tour!

We had a great time and Chris was a terrific host and driver. Looking back, I would’ve just done the cliffs and skipped the caves and castle. They were interesting but not worth the long day for us. You can pretty much do Galway in a half of day though, so this was a nice getaway. Chris kept it interesting, knew so much, and had a great sense of humor. Great trip overall. Just beware that WiFi doesn’t work. You’ll be looking at the views most of the time anyway, but don’t know why it’s advertised. This seems to be an issue on all the busses in Ireland.

Great day trip, the informative descriptions sprinkled with witty humor from our guide, Chris, added to the overall experience. The cliffs were an incredible sight, the cave tour was an unexpected bonus. Itwas great to have a local guide - he knew all the ins and outs about the tides at the castle!

We had a great time! We were able to see the Cliffs and stopped to warm up for lunch in a quaint fishing village afterwards. The guide was very knowledgeable.
