Meet your professional tour guide outside the main port gate / hotel lobby, check in for the tour and get ready to listen and learn a lot on this comprehensive tour of the old Hanseatic town of Gdansk.

On your way from the port of Gdynia, you will hear the story of this medieval town that played such an important role not only in its country's history, but in the world history as well.

Your first stop will be at the magnificent Oliwa Cathedral, built by Cistercian monks in the 12th century. This magnificent basilica holds works of art in Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo and Classical styles, but is more famous for its amazing Oliwa Organ that boats 5100 pipes!

Stop At: Three Crosses Monument, Plac Solidarnosci, Gdansk 80-001 Poland

As you keep driving towards the Old Town, you will make several photo stops to capture the most memorable and important sights of the 20th century history: the island where theWorld War II started, the ship yard from where Cold War broke out and of course Solidarity Square that set off the fight for freedom among the working class.

Stop At: Malbork Castle, Starościńska 1, 82-200 Malbork, Poland

From there you will head South-east towards Malbork, a small town that was founded by Teutonic Knights in the 13th century in the honour of Saint Virgin Mary (German name for Malbork is Marienburg). Under continuous conctruction for almost 230 years, Malbork became the largest BRICK castle complex in the world, and is actually three castles combined in one another. Malbork is considered to be the most impressive of its kind in entire Europe and also listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site.

You will tour the Inner castle with it's numerous halls and corridors, visit the most important rooms (like Assembly room, Dining Hall, Kitchen and of course Toilet gallery). You will learn about life during middle ages, the struggles people had (How do you heat such a huge castle?), what they ate, how they entertained themselves and so much more.

This place is a great expoloration possibility for children and their parents, it will bring stories to life and will become a lasting memory. Please be aware that there are extremely many steps to climb, as well as cobblestones to walk, so comfortable shoes are recommended.

At the end of the castle tour you will get a chance to have a short lunch break at a local cafe/restaurant, located right in the castle (pre-booking recommended, so please ask your guide to do that for you), and then will set off back to Gdansk.

Stop At: Golden Gate (Zlota Brama), ul. Targ Weglowy 27, Gdansk 80-836 Poland

Once you finally reach Gdansk Old Town, you will leave the bus and will tour along the main street from the Golden Gate. Once nearly destroyed during the war, this lovely town will capture your heart with its bright-colored houses and mansions of Polish merchants and nobility, recreated almost from ruins.

The Golden Gate is one of the most notable tourist attractions of the city. It was created in 1612–14 in place of a 13th-century gothic gate, the Brama Długouliczna (Long Street Gate). Both sides of the gate have attiques, with figures symbolizing the qualities of the ideal citizen.

Stop At: Old Town, Gdansk Poland

Old Town in Gdańsk can be found north of the modern city center. There are lots of exciting structures there, including: Gdańsk Granaries, Gdańsk Mills, Gdańsk Town Hall, Monument of King Sobieski, Polish Post, Preachers' House. The main streets of the Old town are Ulica Długa (Long Street) and Długi Targ (Long Market), a pedestrian walkways surrounded by buildings reconstructed in historical (primarily during the 17th century) style and flanked at both ends by elaborate city gates.

Stop At: Main Town Hall (Ratusz Glownego Miasta), Dluga 46/47, Gdansk 80-831 Poland

You will learn how to read history from bricks, and will admire the Town Hall of Gdansk.

Gdańsk Main Town Hall is a historic Ratusz, one of the finest examples of the Gothic-Renaissance historic buildings in the city, built at the intersection of the Ulica Długa (Long Street) and Długi Targ (Long Market), in the most popular part of Gdańsk. The Main Town Hall houses the History Museum of the City of Gdańsk.

Stop At: St. Mary's Church, Podkramarska 5, Gdansk 80-834 Poland

St. Mary's Church is currently one of the two or three largest brick churches in the world. The church is decorated within with several masterpieces of Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque painting. The most notable, The Last Judgement by Flemish painter Hans Memling, is currently preserved in the National Museum of Gdańsk.

Stop At: Green Gate (Brama Zielona), ul. Dluga, Gdansk Poland

The Green Gate is located between Long Market (Długi Targ) and the River Motława. The Green Gate was clearly inspired by the Antwerp City Hall. It was built as the formal residence of Poland's monarchs. Today the Green Gate houses the National Museum in Gdańsk. Exhibitions, meetings, conferences and shows are held here. The Gdańsk office of former Polish President Lech Wałęsa is located in one of the rooms.

Stop At: Amber Museum, ul. Targ Weglowy 26, Gdansk 80-836 Poland

You will conclude your exploration with a visit to the Amber Museum, located in the former Town Prison, and you will not only learn about Amber (what else can be there at an Amber Museum?), but will also try try to decipher names of former prisoners, scribbled on the doors of prison cells.

After the Old Town walking tour, you will enjoy some free time for self-exploration, shopping or a relaxing coffee break in one of the local cafes.

At the end of the tour, you will meet your tour guide and bus at the designated spot and transfer back to the ship / hotel.
