Excellent tour. Our guide, Yolanda, was very knowledgeable and friendly. We learned a lot about Switzerland. We upgraded...well worth it.

Great trip overall. The tour description was a bit off and we were told we bought the basic package but could upgrade if we wanted to. It was the 2nd trip we took with this company, in 2 days, where we had to buy up. The basic package had a tour of the chocolate factory with tastings, a tour of a cheese factory, with tastings, a drop off in Gruyeres, a bus ride back to Montreaux. The additions included a tour of a dairy with more cheese tastings along with meat and bread, wine and finally we got to make fondue. We were glad for that experience as we'd had not so great fondue the night before and this fondue was so much better. The addition also included a ride on the Golden Pass. As said, the additions were well worth it but were a bit unexpected. A lot was done this day and it was a great experience.

Maggie was our tour guide. She didn't provide enough explanation and narrative during the bus ride to the various locations. When she did speak, descriptions were provided in English and then in Spanish, or vice versa. By the time she got to describing the site in the 2nd language, we had already passed the site of interest. The visit to the cheese factory was a waste of time. The tour was each person walking through the various exhibits, of which there were not many. Not very informative. Maggie suggested that we not purchase any cheese at the factory since there would be another cheese store in the village of Gruyeres. Instead of stopping at the cheese factory, I would've preferred more free time at the village of Gruyeres. As it was, we only had enough time to have lunch and not enough time afterwards to explore the castle.

Great trip. Beautiful views of Lake Limon, vineyards and grazing cows and sheep. The Chocolate factory was great with sampling many kinds of chocolate. We found a great restaurant in Gruyers. Would recommend.

This is a well balanced trip provided you like cheese fondu. Facinating to see the old ways still in use to produce the cheese

I have to say, Maria might have been the best tour guide Ive ever had. She was very attentive and had great commentary. The tour was also very nice. The Cailier chocolate factory was like a Disney ride through the history of chocolate. I would have liked to see more of the chocolate being made but it was still a neat tour. The gift shop and chocolate is very good. I read a lot of people saying this is a Nestle factory so it's not that good. It is owned by Nestle, but it seems like they dont make your standard Nestle chocolate. This is higher quality and worth the price in my opinion. I picked up 100 Euros worth because I thought it was very good. This tour also takes you to a small artisanal farm where you have lunch with Fondue, meats, cheese, wine, and a local dessert. Everything was outstanding. I wanted to buy a little of everything. The village of Gruyeres was also very nice. It is very small so 1 hour is plenty of time to see EVERYTHING. The castle is very cool and the rest of the walled town is very picturesque. Then you take the golden pass train ride. The views coming back to the lake are spectacular. It's a very pretty ride. On the way back by bus, you stop in the Lavaux wine area. You pull off the side of the road at a small picnic area covered in vines. The view of the vineyards and lake are worth the stop. Maria served us a cup of wine from the area at the stop. It was a very nice day.

My husband and i took this day trip to Gruyeres on a Sunday. Maria, our guide, was excellent, very well informed and shared her knowledge about the places we visited. The visit to the Cailler Chocolate Factory and the tasting of such delicious chocolates, going round and having lunch in Gruyeres, a very lovely medieval village, the picturesque views of the country side, the vine yards and Lake Geneve as you go down to Montreux were marvelous. Travelling in an air conditioned coach and having a friendly guide like Maria, makes this excursion very recommendable to all those visiting Geneve.
