What a fantastic tour. Karl met us promptly at 10am at the train station and to our surprise it was just the 3 of us. This was one of the the best tours I have ever done. His knowledge of the city and his connection to the people made for a fantastic day. We walked a lot and it was a blazing hot day but Karl made sure we walked in the shade as much as possible and that we stayed well hydrated. He has an obvious passion for what he does and the place he lives in. I would not recommend this tour if you are not able to walk up and down stairs and hills, although, Karl will try to accommodate you as much as possible but Genoa by nature is very hilly. I had injured my knee the day before so it was challenging but he made sure that I was comfortable. The places he took us to eat were fantastic!

This tour was amazing! Karl, the tour guide was wonderful! He was very interesting, knowledgable and well traveled. This tour was private and completely customizable, if desired. He met us at the cruise ship to begin and returned us there at end the day. He spent the entire day with us, walking thru the city, stopping for some wine and a local snack and then to a fabulous lunch including more wine and dessert. Can only say positive things about this day. Would highly recommend to anyone!

My daughter and I missed this tour because she became ill. How ever my sister, and nephews did tour with Karl. THey relayed to us that there was a lot of walking, but it was the best tour they have ever done.. In addition, we had an issue of one member of the party needing to eat gluten free. Karl was able to accommodate that. I'm looking forward to actually doing this tour in the future.

Our tour guide was amazing!! Not only did we have a private tour which we were surprised about but he knew all the answers to most of the questions we asked. This was one of my favorite cities we visited in Italy. Partially because of its hidden beauties we went to places we would have never seen or found had it now been for our amazing tour guide!! I would recommend not only this tour but this city to everyone!! We would do this again in a heart beat!!

What an amazing tour! We were met promptly at 10 by our wonderful guide, Karl ! There were just four of us and Karl immediately gave us the information about what the day would encompass. We spent the day by walking through the incredible streets of Genoa and learning about the History of the Genoese people, the finances, the conflicts, the wars, etc.. all while walking and being shown the building and sites involved.. Karl was so personable, polite, caring, and so completely in love with this city that it showed with every turn. He took us beyond the doors and into courtyards and buildings that most people never get to see! He would run into a small café and come out with the most delicious Genoese food for us to taste. He brought us to a little café where we had a glass of wine and got to meet the locals. He bought us the most amazing lunch where we sat and talked like old friends. Karl is totally in love with his city and he thoroughly was excited to show us everything. We were even taken to an overlook of the city. Karl made sure that we got back to the Port at the end of the tour. This was the most amazing tour in every aspect and remembering the exuberance and personality of Karl is a joy! Thanks to him we have very fond memories of a beautiful city. Do not hesitate to book this tour!
