About this activity
Meet and greet your guide at Penang Hill Railway Lower Station or Botanical Garden at 7am. Embark on the train and depart to the peak of Penang Hill, 2,732ft (833m) above sea level, and it will take approximately 15 minutes ride.
Disembark the train once we reached the top of the hill, and you will follow your guide trek through the verdant forest towards the Tiger Hill. Passing through upland forest and gardens you will see large groves of ginger. Enjoy the cool fresh air in the tropical forest and try to search for the dusky leaf monkey, black giant squirrel and wide variety of birds, especially the greater racket-tailed drongo (if you are lucky to spot one). The racket-tailed drongo is a medium-size Asian bird which is distinctive in having elongated outer tail. The bird watching and trekking will take around 2 hours walk.
Then, we will move on to David Brown’s Tea Terrace next to the cable car station for lunch. Enjoy a spectacular view of every significant landmark on the Pearl of the Orient from the top of Penang Hill before we proceed back to the train (or by vehicle) and taking the ride downhill.
