There are a lot of hidden treasures in Egypt that tourists never know about. Among these, there is the magnificent Cave Church or Simon Church or samaan el kharaz monastery in Arabic in the Mokattam Mountain. Simon the Tanner was a craftsman saint who lived during the 10th century and the cave church that was dedicated to him. There are seven cave churches carved into the nearby Moqattam Mountain. The Monastery of St. Simon the Tanner is the largest. This church was named AFTER Virgin Mary and ST. Simon the Tanner, in commemoration of the miracle of transferring the Moqattam Hill that is why Moqattam called Miracle mountain. Virgin Mary has made her revelation to pope Abram to announce upon who sew hands the transference of the hill would take place
