Tour of Luxor from Marsa Alam
At the sunrise a bus will pick up you in front of your hotel and will drive you till Luxor. If on the way you need to stop, please feel yourself free to ask: you can decide about everything! After about 5 hours you will arrive at your destination and the morning will be devoted to the visit of the West Bank of the Nile: first stop will be the Valley of the Kings, known as the burial place of the Pharaons of the new empire. Until now archeologists discovered more than sixty graves: your guide will take you to visit three of them. You will be impressed by how, after more than three thousand years, the decorations are still complete and the bright colours are still intact. Undoubtedly the most famous of all is the tomb of King Tutankhamon: the child-Pharaon. If you want (paying an extra ticket) you can enter into his eternal abode although now it is totally emptied of his treasures (that is in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo). Another temple really famous was build for the Queen Hatshepsut, the only woman that was Pharaon in Egypt over than 20 years. After that we will have a pleasant moment of relax where we will visit an alabaster's factory: discover the processing techniques of this material and if you want you can buy some items absolutely handmade. Last stop before the lunch will be to the Colossi of Memnon, two giant statues representing King Amenotep and which originally stood at the entrance of his mortuary temple. Go then to eat in a restaurant along the Nile and relax for a while before leaving for the tour. The afternoon, finally will be dedicated at Karnak temples: you will walk through the avenue of Sphinxes, you will pass through colossal statues of Pharaons and you will see how the columns still maintain intact their shapes and the original colors. You will have the chance to read the history of Egypt through hieroglyphs. And don't forget to get to the sacred lake and do three laps around the beetle (as tradition!). In the evening we will return to Marsa Alam.
