About this activity
Meet the Artists In Their Studios!

Cape Ann Artist Melody Phaneuf explains, “Unlike a gallery that brings the works of an artists to the public, The Art of Cape Ann Tour will bring the public into our working environment. It is a unique opportunity for visitors to engage with artists and experience the culture of art on Cape Ann.”

Gloucester is home of our nations oldest running artist colony, Rocky Neck, and today more than 2000 artists call this area home. Starting in the early 1800's, artists have been painting, sculpting, and capturing the spirit of this charming and picturesque village.

With multiple stops to explore, we will discover artists of the past along our narrated tour passing by a few Edward Hopper homes, a sculpture featured at the Paris Salon, and of course the Fisherman's Memorial Statue as we journey by bus to visit the working art studios, and beautiful galleries nestled around Cape Ann.

Light snacks will be served in some of the studios, everyone will receive a canvas backpack with a bottle of water and brochures to help you find more of our local artists when you are ready to return again.
