About this activity

Meet your host Amruta at her home in Sabniswadi, Sawantwadi. It is a beautiful cozy and rustic home-stay run by Amruta and her husband, surrounded by towering trees. Start your experience with a refreshing drink and get to know the family better as you settle in. You will then be guided on a market walk by Amruta who will show you around and tell you how to select local ingredients, she will buy some to bring back home and cook.

Post the market visit, join Amruta for a cooking session, where she will use the ingredients to prepare some local favourites in her verandah. Couple that with interesting stories from Amruta's husband. Enjoy a traditional coastal meal including a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian preparations and the favourite local desert - Ukadiche Modak (steamed rice dumplings with a filling of jaggery and coconut) to end the meal.

The entire experience will last for about 2-4 hours.

Please note: This is not a professional cooking class. This is an unique opportunity to interact with a local and learn some tips and tricks of Indian cooking and enjoy a lovely home-cooked meal over great conversations.
