After meeting your guide at your selected Gold Coast hotel, travel approximately 40-minutes through the Gold Coast Hinterland to Hinze Dam (If you’d prefer to meet your guide there, please meet at the Western Boat ramp on Nerang-Murwillumbah Road). Here you’ll discover the history surrounding the dam, Gold Coasts main drinking water supply for the region.
Built in 1976, your guide will explain the 1989 restorations which increased the walls by 49-feet (15m) as well as the more recent upgrades in 2011 allowing the dam to increase its water security and capacity by double. Holding up to 310,730 mega-liters of water, you’ll have plenty of space to explore the stunning surrounding Hinterland views on this kayak and walking tour.
Paddle approximately 1-hour to the eastern side of the dam where you’ll embark on a 30-minute walk along the top of the dams gates taking in the picturesque views out over the hinterland. Arrive at the Dams Visitor Centre where you’ll enjoy a delicious hot breakfast or lunch (depending on your departure time) at the Hinze Dam View Café. Sit back and relax as you take in the incredible views. Make sure to bring your camera as the views are simply picture perfect!

- What to bring: sun hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, sun protective clothing, shoes appropriate for walking and kayaking, a towel and a water bottle.
- Dry Bags for your valuable items will be provided, but we are not responsible for any damages they could suffer on the tour.
- Low to medium level of fitness is required, so it is not recommended for people with medical conditions.
- This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund
