Learn to Surf at Broadbeach on the Gold Coast

Meet at the corner of Old Burleigh Road and Margaret Avenue in Broadbeach. Your local operator we get everyone to complete an acceptance of risk form and hand out a rash shirt or wetsuit and a suitably sized surfboard before heading to the beach.

Begin your lesson with a safety briefing and some basic instruction on the sand before heading into the water to catch some waves. After everyone has caught a few waves, return to the beach and continue practicing your technique. By the end of the lesson your guides hope to have everyone standing at least for a short time. It is fantastic to see everyones faces when they stand up for the first time. Most people have very low expectations and assume that they will not be able to stand up. But with the right size board and excellent instruction your local guide can get almost everyone standing up in the first lesson.
