Coastal Island Safaris - Minjerriba – The Giant in the Sun, is what the aborigines call North Stradbroke Island. It is gigantic indeed, 35 km long and 15 km wide at it’s widest point. One of the largest subtropical sand Islands in Australia, it has sand dunes over 200 meters high, Eucalypt Forests, patches of the Rain Forest, Typical Australian bush and hidden crystal clear lakes are situated all over the Island. Stop At: Stradbroke Ferries Pty Ltd, 3 Emmett Drive, Cleveland, Redland City, Queensland 4163 Australia
The day begins as we cross the calm water of Moreton Bay by large car ferry enjoying morning tea and viewing other islands also located off the Queensland’s coast and a visit to the captains quarters.
Duration: 2 hours
Stop At: Brown Lake, Redland City, North Stradbroke Island, Queensland 4183 Australia
Once off the ferry we travel across the island to Brown lake where you are able to swim and learn about the ways of the aboriginal people who still occupy the island.
Duration: 30 minutes
Stop At: North Gorge Walk, Midjimberry Road, Point Lookout, Redland City, North Stradbroke Island, Queensland Australia
From there a exhilarating 4WD track is taken to Main Beach where we will be finding fresh pipis to cook for lunch, you can also take time to climb the large dunes or go for another swim. From here A short drive is then taken to the picturesque Point Lookout where an easy walk is taken in order to view the magnificent whales (June – November), dolphins, turtles, manta-rays and many more sea animals that surround the island.

Until finally we head to Flinders Beach where we stop to have an ‘Aussie’ BBQ lunch on the beach, whilst the tour drivers and guides prepare lunch there is time for fishing, swimming and playing in the sand.
