Stop At: Palace of Carlos V, Alhambra, Granada Spain

Stop At: Palacio El Partal, Calle Real de la Alhambra 2 18009 Alhambra, 18009 Alhambra Spain

After walking up a narrow landscaped path with a view of Sacromonte, on our left appear the north wall of the Alhambra and the remains of walls and some pavement that mark the location of what is currently called the Court of the Fig Tree.

A small pergola leads to a wide esplanade corresponding to the lower terrace of the Partal. To the left is the architectural structure for which the location is named: the Partal Palace portico.

Ok tour. Difficult to understand the guide at times. Tour dominated by two French people who wanted everything translated into French. Why were they on the English tour. The guide did his best but this definitely did not help .

Alhambra was the highlight of our Spain holiday, and the experience was enhanced by our excellent tour guide, Jose. His knowledge of the history of Alhambra, Granada and Spain was exceptional. The tour lasted for three hours, and gave a great overview of the main features of Alhambra and Generalife. Jose guided us at a good pace, which meant interest was fully maintained throughout the tour. He was able to answer a wide range of questions from the participants of this tour, and added humour as well as a wealth of information. We came away from the tour feeling very satisfied with our visit, with plenty to talk about and reflect upon. Jose also ensured everyone had ample opportunities for capturing the spectacular buildings and landscape on camera. I would definitely recommend this tour. It was well organised and highly enjoyable.

Our tour guide Jose Francesco was excellent the time of 3 hrs went quickly My only point to make is that there is a fair walk involved with some hills so if you are not reasonably fit don't do it

Virginia was our guide the day I took the tour. She was engaging, knowledgeable, and witty. I can not recommend this tour highly enough.

Alhambra dominates the skyline of Granada. It is impressive and beautiful. We were excited to take the tour and learn of the history of this magnificent structure. The first tip would be when the tour guide asks if you want to hike the hill or take a cab - take the cab. It is not worth killing your legs to save the $5 bucks for a ride to the top. I felt bad for the older couples who decided to hike it. I don't think they ever recovered from the hike and ended up struggling with the stairs and the rest of the tour due to the hill at the beginning. Next, our tour guild a young lady whose name begins with A. she has her masters in Islamic study and gave a very slanted view of history. She also took every opportunity to bash Christianity or anything that was not in line with her personal views. She was the downside to this tour.

Couldn’t get tickets for the Alhambra (3 months in advance to book) so booked this trip through Viator who we have used regularly over the years. Our guide, Virginia, was excellent and so knowledgeable about the history of the Alhambra. Couldn’t fault it. It is a must see and ,although not cheap at £43.90, was worth the cost. Learned a lot.

Our tour guide was amazing. The tour was timed just right and we had plenty of time to absorb all of the information. We like Behina (spelling?) and we would recommend this tour to anyone.

At first I was sad that general admission tickets were sold out. But honestly, this tour was terrific! We had a great guide who was happy to share this site with us. It would have been overwhelming to explore on our own. Would absolutely reccomend this tour!

The fact that the tour begins in the office rather than at Alhambra is the biggest problem with this tour. It is easier to park at Alhambra where parking is plentiful than near the office. It is a long walk to the office from Alhambra or a 5 Euro taxi ride. Once you are gathered at the office, you meet your guide and are told that if you prefer not to walk about 20 minutes up a VERY steep hill, you can meet at a specific place at Alhambra. About 1/4 of our group chose to skip the walk. I would comment that the tour company walked us to the taxi stop and advised the taxi where we were to be taken as none of the group spoke Spanish. The cost to go back to Alhambra from the office was about 6 Euros. Once the group was reunited, the tour went well. Our guide was Simon; he spoke excellent English and was very informative. Although advertised as a 3 hour visit, he told us upfront that he typically spends 3 1/2 - 4 hours on his tours. The headsets are very helpful if you are not close enough to Simon to hear his narrative although they are uncomfortable. However, there are a number of opportunities where they can be removed and not miss any information. Simon is a gem! If you can, be certain to be in his group. The big negative was the meeting site at the office and resultant steep hike up to the Alhambra.
