About this activity
Set off from Grand Canyon National Park Airport on your morning or afternoon airplane tour of Grand Canyon landmarks. As you ride aboard a comfortable Vistaliner plane with panoramic windows, listen to narration about the geologic forces that helped create the dramatic canyon and surrounding terrain and the various peoples who have lived there.

Keep your camera ready as you fly over Zuni Point — one of the few lookouts on the South Rim without a road or trail — and marvel at the crimson canyon and plateau covered with cacti. Continue through the Zuni Corridor and see the confluence of the Colorado and Little Colorado rivers.

Get a closer look at the Desert View Watchtower, a popular vista point on the South Rim, and glimpse the gorgeous colors of the Painted Desert in the distance. See the remote North Rim, including its highest viewpoint, Point Imperial. Admire the Kaibab Plateau and dense greenery of the Kaibab National Forest before returning to Grand Canyon National Park Airport at the conclusion of your 40-minute aerial tour.

The flight was beautiful, but at the beginning the pilot said they would be telling some historical events and interesting facts about the Grand Canyon. They only made mention of one thing, where the Little Colorado joined the Colorado River.

The scenery was beautiful ! My 2 grandsons 13 and 17 took the trip with me. We thought our trip was book for 11:00 to 11:30. On arrival one hour early were told our trip was at 1:00 pm and we didn't take off until almost 2 pm. Having thought our trip was earlier we booked plans to be North of Las Vegas 4 hours by dinner time. The pilot and co pilot scared both my grandsons by announcing we didn't have enough fuel for our trip, and we had to get fuel. Both boys are adventurous. We all fly several times a year. I was not real comfortable either. I also notices a couple other passengers appeared a little nervous . After about 3 minutes it was announced we were taking off. There was no farther explanation about the low fuel. Needless to say I spent most of the trip trying to reassure my grandsons everything was alright or we would have not taking off. The personal should not make announcements and then change with out explanation. Our trip was book way in advanced. In hindsight I should have ask the pilot about why we did not get fuel. I was 3 rows behind the cockpit.

Our group of 4 adults took the Grand Canyon Airlines Landmarks tour which is a 45 minute Airplane tour. Fixed wing aircraft tours are roughly 1/2 the cost of Helicopter flights, Anyone coming to the Grand Canyon needs to take a flight over and around the Canyon so you can truly appreciate the grandeur and scale of this magnificent place. The tour was narrated in multiple languages so you knew what you were looking at and the pilots were terrific. NOTE: Anyone taking any flight with any company who has the SLIGHTEST tendency to get airsickness should take a non drowsy Dramamine rtablet an hour or so ahead of time as some slight turbulence is unavoidable. Don't let this discourage you- the views are magnificent, it will just ensure that nothing mars your enjoyment. We highly recommend this company and tour.

Our Pilot was adorable. However, it was difficult to get good pictures because of the airplane it's self. Always seem to be a wing or a bar in our picture. For actually flying over the Canyon and around, it was awesome.

I was glad that we chose the plane over the helicopter. Our pilot seemed genuinely interested in giving us a great experience by mentioning things to look for before the trip. I think her name was Taylor. She was from Texas. She also helped with pictures before and after the trip.
