St Barts Day Trip by Jeep with Scavenger Hunt

Full Day
About this activity
Start your day trip to St Barts in either Marigot or Oyster Bay, depending on the day of your tour. After checking in with your passport (St Barts is a French territory), hop aboard the Voyager 3, an air-conditioned high-speed catamaran with provided drinks. Specially designed to travel across the sea, the ferry offers a comfortable ride with minimal bouncing.

The ride south from St Martin takes about 60 minutes from Marigot and 30 minutes from Oyster Bay and ends in Gustavia, St Barts’ tiny, red-roofed capital. When you get off the ferry, a minivan will take you to pick up the Jeep Wrangler that you get to drive for the day.

Receive a scavenger hunt map, which provides the route you’ll take around the island, and settle into your 2-door open-top Jeep (you can either drive or sit in the passenger seat). Then take off, following the map past top attractions like white-sand beaches and historical landmarks, as well as lesser-known sights. You’ll enjoy great photo ops and views of the sparkling Caribbean.

After your Jeep tour, head back to Gustavia for lunch at a local bistro. Relax on a terrace overlooking the town center and yacht-lined harbor while you enjoy French-influenced island cuisine. After your meal, you get about 2.5 hours of free time to spend in Gustavia on your own. The Jeep is yours for the entire day so you can continue driving on your own or you can explore on foot.

You can refer to the provided walking map for directions to the must-see landmarks and attractions around town. Check out the old fort, visit the Wall House Museum to see historical artifacts, and explore Gustavia’s chic boutiques and jewelry stores. If you’re in the mood to swim or snorkel (gear is provided), walk to Shell Beach, named for the pink seashells that cover the shore. Alternatively, enjoy a drink or two at a tony waterfront cafe. (Entrance fees, food and drinks are at your own expense.)

At the designated time, head back to the ferry terminal for the return ride to St Martin.
