We finish our panoramic tour with the architectural jewel that is the Expiatory temple, a building of Gothic architecture in the city. We begin with our pedestrian route through the well-known "Cruz de Plazas" of the Historic Downtown of Guadalajara, we will continue walking towards the Metropolitan Cathedral, a building that began its construction around 1560, one of the most characteristic and ancient of the city. Then we will go to the Government Palace where we will see murals by José Clemente Orozco and a small museum about the history of the state. We will walk Liberación Square and stop outside the Degollado Theater, home of the mariachi galas held in the city every September, then it's time to leave to Tlaquepaque.

I was supposed to do this tour on the Monday but ended up doing it on Tuesday after the company asked me if I wouldn't mind swapping days between my Tequila tour and the city tour. I was happy to switch and this was well worth it as I got a lucky free upgrade. I was given a free Food tour on top of the city tour and visit of Tlaquepaque. We started the day close to 11am with some delicious food. We started with the Torta ahogada in the place it started, followed by some delicious Chilaquiles red sauce, some agua fresca de limon and a Jericalla traditional Jalisco flan. Having had breakfast before as I wasn't aware I'd get this extra tour for free I was already full, but we had 1 more stop, in town, at the 9 esquinas for a traditional Birria de Chivo. I personally don't like goat but I gave it a try and it was pretty good. Afterwards, we started the tour of the city main spots and I was quite glad for the walk. While the other group finished their tour after this visit, I went on to do the Tour of Tlaquepaque, which is a lovely little town with several art galleries Sergio Bustamante and Rodo Padilla were the ones I went to with my guide and regional crafts shops. The tour as pretty quick and I was given more free time than I needed to go about the town, and do some shopping. I was obviously pretty lucky to get that upgrade but it was a nice tour overall and my guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. I personally think it was worth spending the few extra euros/dollars to go on this tour compared to taking the tourist bus, but this is only my personal opinion.

The tour of Guad was good, of what we did see. However, instead of making the trip to Tlaquepaque, where we had just a short time to spend by the time we drove there, the 4 of us thought saving the travel time and touring more of the historic center would have been a better use of time.. We went to the Cultural Cabanas on our own to tour the beautiful and historic murals. Thanks.

We really enjoyed our tour. There was another couple joining us on the trip we all happened to be from Oregon. This was the perfect size to be able to ask questions and hear everything. Our guide, Ronnie, was very knowledgeable about the historic significance of the sites we visited and clearly love his city and Jalisco. If we had not been with him we would never have learned about the heroes of Jalisco and Guadalajara area. And the significance of the history of tequila! Who knew drinking tequila was such a benefit to all! Walking around Tlaquepaque was also enlightening and fun. It's a charming area with good food and amazing and famous artisans, plus historical importance. All in all a wonderful introduction to the area. Thank you, Ronnie and aviator.

I was the odd man out. The tour was fully booked with one family and me. Felt odd, but very nice family.

What a fabulous tour! Our guide, Ronny, clearly loves his city. His historical knowledge was impressive to be sure - and his teaching while showing us the sites of this beautiful city was an absolute delight. Our lunch in Tlaquepacque and our tour there made the day a complete success. We would highly recommend this tour.
