Guilin 2-Day Tour from Guangzhou

Itinerary

Day 1: Train to Guilin, Reed Flute Cave and Elephant Trunk Hill Park

Stop At: Reed Flute Cave (Ludi Yan), 0773-2695075, Guilin 541001 China
Make your own way to the Guangzhou South Train Station to take train to Guilin in the morning. The journey in high speed train takes about three hours in total. Upon arrival at the Guilin train station, your expert local guide will escort you in a comfortable and private vehicle to experience Guilin tourist attractions.

First you will visit the Reed Flute Cave, located about five kilometers northwest of downtown Guilin. The cave got its name from the verdant reeds growing outside it, with which people make flutes. Inside this water-eroded cave is a spectacular world of various stalactites, stone pillars and rock formations created by carbonate deposition. Illuminated by colored lighting, the fantastic spectacle is found in many variations along this 240-meter-long cave. Walking through the serried stone pillars, tourists feast their eyes on changing spots, feeling they are in a paradise where the Gods live.

Then visit the China South Pearl Store. Considered as the symbol of health, longevity and wealth, pearls have always been loved by all people through the history of the world. Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, a southern province of China, as one of the countries that cultured pearls the earliest in the world, has been culturing sea pearls for more than 1700 years and the sea pearls cultured here are called China South Sea Pearls. A traditional saying is believed that West Pearls are good, East Pearls are better and South Pearls are the best.

Stop At: Elephant Trunk Hill (Xiangbishan), Within Xiangbishan Park, Xiangshan District, Guilin 541004 China
Next will be the Elephant Trunk Hill Park, situated majestically at west bank of Li River. Originally named 'Li Hill', 'Yi Hill' and 'Chenshui Hill', the hill has a history of 3.6 hundred million years. Resembling an elephant leisurely sucking water from the river with its long trunk, this hill is famous as Elephant Trunk Hill for hundreds of years.After this you will transfer back to your hotel with the rest of the day on your own arrangement.

Day 2: Li river cruise, Yangshuo village and train back to Guangzhou

Stop At: Li River, East of Guangxi Zhuang China
In the morning you will take a cruise in the Li river, a truly unforgettable experience. As you take in the stunning scenery there’s something interesting to see at almost every bend in the river. Many of the karst formations are, with a little imagination, reminiscent of animals and objects, with names such as Elephant Trunk Hill, Sword Cut Cliff, Reclining Flower Vase Hill and many more. Between these spectacular limestone peaks you’ll see graceful bamboo groves, farmers tending rice paddies, and lumbering water buffaloes pulling carts or cooling off in the river. You may also see fishermen gliding along on their narrow bamboo rafts, and if you’re very lucky you might see one of the famous fishing cormorants.

Stop At: Yangshuo County, Yangshuo County, Guangxi
Once in Yangshuo, you will have some time to stop at the ‘World’s Biggest Market’ to pick up some things for yourself or souvenirs for friends or family. Then your guide will take you to have a walk along the West Street. This is a tiny S-shaped street running through the street which is mainly inhabited by foreigners now, hence its name. The street itself has over 1,400 years of history, when there were only a few grocery stores on the street. Currently, it is one of the mixing pots of traditional, modern, and foreign culture.

Afterwards we will bring you to the Guilin train station for your train back to Guangzhou.
