At around 8:30am, meet your guide in your hotel lobby and then head to Kaiping Diaolou and Villages, which has been listed as cultural heritage by UNESCO in 2007.
Kaiping Diaolou and Villages were built by overseas Kaiping people during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. These buildings take three forms: communal towers built by several families and used as temporary refuge, residential towers built by individual rich families and used as fortified residences, and watch towers to defend agaisnt local banditry.
