You will be pick up at your hotel in Guatemala City to start a full day of culture, customs and traditions. We will have the opportunity to appreciate the Giant Kites Festival of different colors and designs.

Stop At: La Ruta del Yalu, Km 43.5 Carretera Interamericana, Sumpango 03004 Guatemala

You will be Transfer to Sumpango Sacatepéquez, This day you will participate in the All Saints day’s local activities where you will see one of the most awesome traditions of Guatemala. This activity is a spectacular display of extravagantly enormous, brightly colored kites that fill the sky.
This festival was named Cultural Heritage of Guatemala and is celebrated every November 1.
It is one of the main cultural events of Santiago Sacatepéquez in which giant kites are built. During the day of the deceased, the local people of this town usually visit the newly painted tombs of their ancestors to pray and deposit flower offerings.
Locals say that these huge kites are used as a way to connect with the deceased, and these kites take over the skies of Sumpango, where the largest kite festivals take place. You will find kites of different sizes, shapes and colors. Some of this kites reach the height of 10 – 15 meters of diameter.
