You will be pick up in your hotel for a sightseeing tour through Guatemala City to appreciate the charm of the modern city and learn about the history of some of the important buildings and monuments on the city.
Stop At: Avenida Las Americas, Guatemala
We will start with an avenue whose name is due to the several Plazas and monuments in honor of the countries of the American continent, surrounding by a garden.

Stop At: Plaza Berlin, Avenida de las Americas Final Zona 13, Guatemala City Guatemala
Then, we continue to Berlin Plaza, in which there are three pieces of concrete brought from Germany, these are original sections of the Berlin Wall and from here you can view part of the city and the landscape of the volcanoes.

Stop At: Avenida La Reforma, 1 Calle a 20 Calle de las Zonas 9 y 10, Guatemala City Guatemala
We continue our road in La Reforma avenue, that was built inspired by the avenues of France and for this reason various statues are carved in stone, bronze and marble brought from Italy.

Stop At: Iglesia Yurrita, 8-52, Ruta 6, Guatemala City 01004 Guatemala
Yurrita Church is a private chapel of mixed Baroque style, with Romanesque and Byzantine elements. The church was built as a votive offering by Felipe Yurrita, a native of Arevalo, Castilla, Spain, to the Virgin of Our Lady of Sorrows, patron of that town, for favors received, in particular to have saved her life during the eruption of the volcano Santa Maria.

Stop At: Centro Civico, Centro Cívico, Guatemala
At the Civic Center of the City, we will see a set of buildings constructed between the 50’s and 60’s, such as The Supreme Court of Justice, the Ministry of Public Finance, City Hall, the Social Security, the Bank of Guatemala, the National Mortgage Bank, and the Guatemalan Tourism Commission, that are important for the history and the government, mostly.

Stop At: Plaza Mayor de la Constitucion, Guatemala City Guatemala
When we arrive at the Major Plaza of the Constitution, we will appreciate important monuments as the National Palace, the Metropolitan Cathedral, the Portal of Commerce and Centenarian Park. Also, it is know as the heart of the Historic Center of the city.

Stop At: Mercado Central, 8 Calle and 8 Ave., Guatemala City 01001 Guatemala
Finally, we will visit the Central Market, which is located behind the Metropolitan Cathedral, in the basement of the Tabernacle Plaza. It is divided by different sectors of products, where you will find from spices to beautiful memories of jade made in Guatemala, and more handicrafts.

Juan Pablo was our tour guide and he was very knowledgeable kind and spoke excellent English. He gave us recommendations on places to eat and let us take our time on our tour. Never felt rushed. The highlight was the central market filled with fruits herbs and souvenirs. Definitely recommend !
I think the trip could be improved with a couple of stops on the Avenue de Americas. We drove past and could not really appreciate the monuments. The tour ended after 3 hours when it mentioned 4 hours on the itinerary. The walk around the market was enjoyable...local craft and produce looked fantastic.
