About this activity
Round trip transportation is included on the tour price. Yet if you decide to stay after the procession, you will pay your own transportation back to your Hotel.
For a morning procession, you want to bring a small umbrella to walk and confortably wait for the procession.
Depending on the procession it can take up to an hour waiting under the April's Guatemalan sun.
Bring confortable shoes to walk plenty around the City Town. Long sleves and pants are prefered to prevent sunburns and be dressed according to the event. Hats are ok, some parishioners take them off when the image is on sight, but this is not a mandatory action since we are outdoors. Yet, when visiting the temples, it is strongly adviced to take off your hats, inside the temple and at the Atrium of Temples when the the float exits the Temple's Main door and the "Granadera March" plays.
GOOD FRIDAY:
The City Town is visited by more than 2 million people on that day, the traffic is restricted and several blocks are closed. For this reason is better to be on site around noon. One of the most traditional and old procession runs at this time. After this procession there will be a 2 hour time-frame for lunch (at a Hotel or at a restaurant), Carpet seeing and waiting for the firsts Funerary processions to leave the Temples.
The tour will be over after we have seen the 3 main funerary processions, yet there are at least 3 more processions that we could encounter on our journey.
