Day 02 – Shillong to Syntung for Wahrashi falls. Stay at a campsite

Day 03 – Head to Mawphlang sacred groove route / David Scott Trail. Stay at Chirapunji

Day 04 – Nokalikai waterfalls trek - Tyrna - Nongriat

Day 05 – Nongriat - Rainbow Falls. Explore around.

Day 06 – Tyrna to Dawki to Shnongpdeng. Camp stay

Day 07 – Shnongpdeng to Krang Shuri Waterfalls - Shillong

Day 08 – Depart from Shillong

  • Arrival at Guwahati Airport and head to Shillong by road
  • Arrival at Shillong. Check into your hotel and freshen up. Introduction and explanation of the concept of backpacking and what to expect from this tour; then Visit Laitlum, one of the most astonishing and scenic destinations, The Laitlum Canyons, which in honestly means ‘The End of Hills.
  • Early morning wake up call to start from Shillong to Wah Rashi Kshaid in Syntung village a river formed by waterfalls for Wahrashi falls. Take pleasure in endless green pastures with paddy fields or vegetables patches; play in the waterfalls, glimpse undulating hill locks, grazing cattle to locals with traditional umbrella made of bamboo. The ride to and away from the destination is a visual treat in itself. Stay at a campsite
  • To excite the pioneer in you we will take David Scott Trail. Follow one of the oldest trekking routes in Meghalaya that lay in existence since colonial India. The trail is named after British officer David Scott. The route is enveloped with idyllic view and pastoral landscapes. Stay at Chirapunji
  • Start early to see Nokalikai waterfalls- Tyrna famous for the double-decker root bridge, one of the must-visit attractions in Meghalaya. The view of Nokalikai waterfalls is great but the trek up to top will be the most memorable experience and view incredible scenery with the rocks in various designs and sizes shaped by the running water. Stay at Nongriat
  • Start from Nongriat to Rainbow Falls, The path to Rainbow Falls though defined is not concreted and is a blend of alternating climbs and drops. The crystal clear turquoise water with play of rainbow colours is a visual treat and explore around.
  • Start from Tyrna and head to Dawki – Shnongpdeng to see the surreal waters of Umngot River. Indulge in water activities such as snorkelling, cliff jumping, zip lining and many more. The landscape is surrounded by green bamboo trees bathed in golden light. The plains across Bangladesh will be visible and it will be a pretty sight and stay in the Camp.
  • It is the most magical waterfall you can lay your eyes on. Krang Suri is cut off from the tourist circuit. Located in the Jaintia hills, Krang Suri is blessed with shimmering blue waters and sparkling sunlight. This heady mixture of nature is sometimes known to create a rainbow. Head to Shillong.
  • Transfer from Shillong. Thus our amazing Meghalaya Backpacking Odyssey comes to an end with lots of memories, experiences and new made best friends!
