Day 1: Hanoi – Ninh Binh – Hanoi

Stop At: Tam Coc, Ninh Binh, Ninh Binh Province
Be welcomed by our guide at your hotel. Over the next 3 days you will discover both Halong Bay and its inland sister Ninh Binh's mountains. You can make your own comparisons between these two destinations - both of which are extremely popular with international tourists.
Upon arrival at Ninh Binh, embark on an excursion to discover Tam Coc – a region of limestone rocks and caves submerged by vast bodies of water and surrounded by green rice fields. Navigate Tam Coc’s network of canals and rivers while admiring the soothing climate of the area.

Stop At: Mua Caves, Ninh Binh, Ninh Binh Province
Arrive in Ninh Xuan, visit Mountain Mua (its name means dancing) which was, during the Tran Dynasty, a place of exclusive art performance for the emperors. Scale 486 stone steps to the summit where you can obtain a panoramic view of Tam Coc region: lush mountains, vast green rice fields and boats drifting peacefully. As you descend to the foot of the mountain, visit Mua Cave.

Stop At: Hoa Lu Ancient Capital, Ninh Binh, Ninh Binh Province
In the afternoon, transfer to Hoa Lu – the former imperial capital of Vietnam (960-1009). Pay a homage to visit the temples of emperors of Dinh and Le Dynasties. Discover Vietnam’s millennial warfare against its northern neighbor.
Return to Hanoi at the end of the afternoon. Overnight at hotel in Hanoi.

Day 2: Hanoi – Halong Bay (180 km ≈ 4 hours drive)

Stop At: Halong Bay, Halong Bay, Quang Ninh Province
Be welcomed by your guide at your hotel then transfer to Halong Bay. Upon arrival, board a traditional junk which will take you on a discovery tour through Bai Tu Long. An enchanted water-borne landscape, Halong Bay boasts a 1500-square-kilometer field of rocks partially submerged in the turquoise water of the Gulf of Tonkin.
Duration: 4 hours

Stop At: Bai Tu Long Bay, Halong Bay, Quang Ninh Province
Enjoy a sip of your welcome toast as the junk drifts east toward Bai Tu Long Bay.
On the way:
Admire the rock boulders which were given names by locals based on their shapes (roosters, frogs, dogs,…);
On arrival at Vung Vieng the fishing village, take a boat trip or kayak to discovery the village and meet its residents;
(if weather permits) Do some swimming and diving at Ban Chan Beach.
As the junk moors in the quiet waters of Bai Tu Long in the late afternoon, either laze on the upper deck, participate in the preparation of Vietnam dishes or take up night fishing.
Lunch and dinner loaded with fresh seafood provided.

Day 3: Bai Tu Long Bay – Hanoi

Stop At: Bai Tu Long Bay, Halong Bay, Quang Ninh Province
Wake up at dawn to contemplate the splendor of the first rays illuminating the diversely shaped rocks. Then, have your light breakfast on the deck.
Resume the exploration of unknown parts of Halong Bay. Drop by Thien Canh Son Cave to view its collection of thousand-year-old stalagmites and stalactites.
Duration: 5 hours

Stop At: Old Quarter, Hanoi
Lunch on board then disembark and return to Hanoi.
End of your 3-day tour to Ninh Binh and Halong.
