Founded in 1753, Lunenburg is an excellent example of British colonial settlement in North America. Many buildings and homes date back to 1760 and the Old Town of Lunenburg still follows the original street plan of 1753. In 1995 the United Nations bestowed a major honor by declaring Lunenburg’s Old Town as UNESCO World Heritage Site. Your Driver-Guide will take you on a walking tour of the town (weather and mobility permitting, an alternative drive tour will be performed in these circumstances) before your return to Halifax.
