About this activity

This tour starts with a lovely drive to the Annapolis Valley, the heart of Nova Scotia wine country. Along the way you'll hear the story of how the wine industry grew overcoming many challenges but having many triumphs as well. You'll learn about the different grapes varieties grown in our cool climate and how the highest tides in the world affect our growing season.

Once we arrive in the Annapolis Valley, you'll begin with a “grape to bottle” tour at L’Acadie Vineyards. This was the first certified organic vineyard and winery in the province so you’ll learn all about organic grape growing and how it differs from conventional growing. L’Acadie Vineyards is also the leader in Traditional Method sparkling wines. Find out about the hands-on process of how they are produced them while enjoying a flight of 5 sparkling wines!

Then you’ll visit our newest winery of the region, Lightfoot & Wolfville Vineyards. Certified organic and grown according to the principles of biodynamic agriculture, their wines include classic Burgundian-inspired Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, Rieslings and other German-styled white wines, as well as Traditional Method sparkling wines. Enjoy a private tour of the facility and a private wine tasting before sitting down for a wood-fired pizza and a glass of wine on the patio overlooking the vineyard and the spectacular Minas Basin where the highest tides in the world occur.

Finally, you’ll visit Annapolis Cider Company! They're all about local. All the apples are grown in nearby orchards, pressed into juice down the road, and fermented into cider at their cidery in charming downtown Wolfville. Enjoy a private cellar tour to learn about the cider-making process and then try 3 of their ciders - the popular Dry & Crisp, the sweet Classic and the ever-changing Something Different!

Fill up your complimentary wine tote bag with wines and cider.
