Good: Seeing the Whitsunday Islands, visiting Whitehaven Beach highlight of the trip, numerous opportunities to snorkel and see some of the Great Barrier Reef, friendly crew Bad: I did not expect the cruise to be so barebones. You get a bunk belowdecks, but you end up having to stay up top most of the time or you'd get seasick. There is nothing on deck so you just end up sitting shoulder to shoulder with the other passengers, with no shelter from the sun and cigarette smokers chain-smoking next to you. You are allowed a 1 min rinse per day since water onboard is limited, so you feel gross all trip. The marine toilets stink. I could go on. It's probably an adventure more suitable for college students or young backpackers, but for anyone over 30 who's used to hotel-level accommodations, it's an uncomfortable way to spend two nights. I couldn't wait to get off the boat.
