  • SHORT BREAK ADVENTURE:
  • This Short Break Adventure is a ‘join in’ group departure, which means you are not accompanied by an Intrepid group leader – our local representative fills this role – and the configuration of any fellow travellers in the group might change during the trip.
  • This trip will run with a minimum of one person and a maximum of 30 passengers, so you may be joined by other travellers booked on the same date as you, or you may be on your own. This trip is operated by one of our local partners in Easter Island and therefore you may be joined by a mixture of Intrepid-booked passengers and other travellers during activities. Information may be delivered in English and Spanish, or just English depending on the requirements of the group.
  • The maximum number of travellers (30) is indicative of maximum number of travellers during join-in activities only.
  • START TIME/FINISH TIME
  • There are no activities planned on Day 1 or the final day of this trip, so you are free to arrive/depart at any time.
  • AIRPORT TRANSFERS INCLUDED:
  • This trip includes return airport transfers, please advise us of your flight details at time of booking
  • RAPA NUI NATIONAL PARK - ENTRANCE FEE
  • Please note, the Rapa Nui National park fee of USD$80 is not included in the tour price and must be paid upon arrival in cash.
  • PASSPORT:
  • Your passport details are required to complete your booking. Please ensure the name on your passport matches the name on your booking and airline tickets. As a general rule most countries expect that your passport has a minimum of 6 months' validity remaining. Take a copy of the main passport pages and other important documents with you, and leave another copy at home with family or friends.
  • VISAS:
  • Visas are the responsibility of the individual traveller. The below country specific information was correct at time of writing, however please visit the relevant consular website of the country or countries you’re visiting for detailed and up-to-date visa information specific to your nationality. Visas can take several weeks to process, so familiarise yourself with any requirements as soon as you have booked your trip to allow for processing time. Also remember to check whether a transit visa is required on route to join this trip or on the way home.
  • If you receive an immigration card upon entry, please ensure you keep this safe as it may be requested at point of exit. For further information regarding country entry and exit fees, please refer to the 'Money Matters' section of this document.
  • CHILE:
  • Americans, Australian, Belgians, British, Canadians, Dutch, Germans, New Zealanders and South Africans do not currently require a visa for Chile. For all other nationalities please reconfirm your visa or entry requirements with the Chilean consulate in your home country.
  • Reciprocity tax for some passport holders:
  • If you are entering Chile at Santiago International Airport, Australians are required to pay a reciprocity fee (US$117 payable in USD$ or credit card only). The fee does not apply to travellers arriving at other airports or entering the country via land borders.
  • DIET REQUIREMENTS
  • Generally speaking, in bigger cities/towns vegetarians can expect a reasonable range of vegetarian venues and/or vegetarian options within tourist restaurant menus. However, vegetarianism is not the norm in this part of the world so options can be limited when eating at homestays, small local restaurants, street stools, markets, etc.
  • More restrictive diet requirements (vegans, celiac, gluten intolerance, fructose intolerance, lactose intolerance, etc.) should expect a lesser variety than what you can expect at home. We recommend that, if possible, to bring your own supply of snacks with you.
  • This tour/activity will have a maximum of 30 travelers
