Day Trip to Zen Futuo Temple, Hangxuan Old Path and Dusong Pass from Hangzhou

Depart from Hangzhou. Arrive at 11 am at the borderlands of Yuhang and An'ji County, home to the peaceful and ancient Futuo Temple.
The pillar-like trunks of more than a dozen sky-piercing Cryptomeria Fir trees stand watching by the entrance and throughout the temple grounds. Embedded in a sea of green, the grey-blue stone courtyards of the temple strike a clear contrast. To the temple’s rear a spectacular scenic vantage point - the nine-tiered tower of Xiao’en Pagoda.
At the noon bell join with practicing monks in the solemn temple halls for a taste of the vegetarian meals that are a daily part of life for the men and women of the monastery.
After alms, follow your guide into the thick of the surrounding bamboo woodland. Roughly an hour on this enchanting old, overgrown path will lead us through to the An’ji village of Dusong.
Dusong reveals the entrance to a bluestone path, polished by a thousand years of footsteps. Follow the ‘Hangxuan Old Path’ for a time-shifting glimpse into what this place once was in ages long since passed - feel the stirring airs at the last remaining battlement of an ancient strategic pass at Dusong pass.
See and explore, gaze and imagine. At an appropriate time, we move back to Dusong village, rest a moment, then take one last twenty-minute walk on road lines by luxurious villas to reach our end-point. Here the coach will be waiting to deliver us home to Hangzhou.
