2-Day Mai Chau Tour and Homestay from Hanoi

Day 1: Hanoi City Hotel - Mai Chau Valley - Lac Village; Thai and Muong Ethnics (-/L/D)
You will be picked up from your hotel and driven to Mai Chau located in Hoa Binh Province, approximately 84 miles from Hanoi. Zigzag along Cun slope, through Cao Phong District to the Mai Chau Valley. From the top of the Cun Mountain, admire the superb panoramic views of the Mai Chau Valley, surrounded by its green valleys and stilt houses. Mai Chau is the home of many ethnic groups, including the White Thai Ethnic group.

Stop at a local village to enjoy a traditional lunch and perhaps taste traditional rice wine with a local family.

After lunch, take a bicycle trip around the village to watch the farmers working in the fields and see the locals weaving scarves. You will also visit the tranquil surrounding villages to learn more about everyday life in the mountain villages.

Enjoy dinner with a local family, including chance to sample local specialty 'ruou can' and enjoy an artistic performance by the Thai and Muong residents of Mai Chau.

Spend the night in a traditional stilt house in Lac Village.

Day 2: Poom Cong Village - Chieu Cave – Hanoi (B/L/-)
The early morning is the most peaceful time to walk around the village and see the sunrise over the beautiful mountains. Following breakfast at Lac Village, enjoy an around 4-mile (7km) walk to Poom Cong Village and the Chieu Cave, where you'll enjoy the panoramic views of the Valley of Mai Chau. You will have lunch and have some time to relax before heading back to Hanoi.
